You may have seen other clinics or telehealth companies advertising compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide as a flat, low-cost alternative available to virtually anyone, often somewhere in the $150–$400/month range. It's worth understanding why that framing isn't quite accurate anymore, and how Nuvo approaches it differently.

Semaglutide and tirzepatide were both previously on the FDA's drug shortage list, which allowed compounding pharmacies to prepare versions of these medications broadly. The FDA has since resolved those shortages (tirzepatide in late 2024, and semaglutide in early 2025), which changed the rules. As of 2026, compounded medication can only be legally prepared on a patient-specific basis: for example, when a patient needs a different dose than what's commercially manufactured, a different formulation, or cannot use an FDA-approved version due to an ingredient allergy. It's no longer legally available simply as a general, lower-cost substitute for the brand-name drug.

For semaglutide, $400 spread over a 12-week vial averages about $144 a month, or about $33 a week. That's only an estimate for comparison. It isn't a monthly charge, and your vial may last a different amount of time depending on your individualized prescription.

For tirzepatide, a $500 vial that lasts about 12 weeks at starting doses works out to about $42 a week, or roughly $180 a month.

Why I price per vial

Not everyone is on the same dose, so a vial doesn't last everyone the same amount of time. Depending on the dose, I've seen one vial last about two months for some patients and up to six months for others. Pricing per vial means you pay for the medication you actually use.
