This guide explains how milligrams, milliliters, and syringe units relate for Nuvo Wellness & Health’s compounded Semaglutide concentration of 2.5 mg/mL. It is general education, not a personal dosing instruction. Always follow the prescription label and the instructions Amanda Walrath, APRN, gives you. Do not change your dose on your own.
SEMAGLUTIDE DOSAGE CHART FOR NUVO’S 2.5 MG/ML CONCENTRATION
The unit amounts below apply only to a 2.5 mg/mL concentration used with a 100-unit U-100 insulin syringe, where 100 units equals 1 mL.
Weeks 1–4: 0.25 mg = 10 units
When directed: 0.50 mg = 20 units
When directed: 0.75 mg = 30 units
When directed: 1.00 mg = 40 units
Dose increases are not automatic. Your prescribed dose may stay the same longer, increase more slowly, or change based on your response, side effects, health history, and clinical plan.
WHY “UNITS” CAN BE CONFUSING
Milligrams measure the amount of medication. Milliliters measure liquid volume. Syringe units are markings that help measure that volume. The same number of milligrams can equal a different number of syringe units when the medication concentration changes. Never use a chart from another clinic, pharmacy, vial, or social media post unless the concentration exactly matches your prescription label and your clinician confirms the instructions.
BEFORE EACH INJECTION
• Confirm your name and the medication on the pharmacy label.
• Confirm the concentration is 2.5 mg/mL before using this chart.
• Confirm your prescribed dose in both milligrams and units.
• Use the syringe type supplied or recommended with your prescription.
• Check the beyond-use date and storage instructions on the pharmacy label.
• Contact Amanda or the dispensing pharmacy if the label, syringe, or instructions do not match.
Do not estimate a dose or copy someone else’s instructions. If you are uncertain about the correct syringe line, pause and ask for help before injecting.
HOW SEMAGLUTIDE WORKS
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It can reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and slow gastric emptying. Prescription treatment works best as part of an individualized plan that may include nutrition, hydration, activity, sleep, and ongoing clinical follow-up.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, heartburn, fatigue, or injection-site reactions. Side effects may be more noticeable after starting treatment or increasing a dose.
Contact your clinician promptly for severe or persistent symptoms. Seek urgent medical care for severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting with inability to keep fluids down, signs of a serious allergic reaction, or other concerning symptoms. Semaglutide may not be appropriate for everyone. Tell your clinician about your complete medical history, pregnancy plans, and all medications, especially insulin or medicines that can lower blood sugar.
MISSED OR DELAYED DOSES
Do not double a dose. Instructions can vary based on the formulation, timing, and your clinical plan. Contact Amanda for guidance if you miss a dose or are unsure when to take the next one.
ABOUT COMPOUNDED SEMAGLUTIDE
Compounded Semaglutide is prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy pursuant to a prescription when clinically appropriate. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and do not undergo FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness, or quality. They should not be described as generic, identical, or guaranteed to provide the same results as an FDA-approved brand product. Concentrations and directions can vary between pharmacies and prescriptions.
NUVO WELLNESS & HEALTH PRICING
Nuvo’s Semaglutide program is $400 per 4 mL vial at the 2.5 mg/mL concentration. For an initial treatment plan, one vial may last approximately 10–12 weeks, depending on the individualized prescribed dose. Medication duration is not guaranteed. Medication, supplies, shipping, and ongoing clinical support are included. There is no monthly membership fee. Medication is purchased only if prescribed after a clinical evaluation.
