GLP-1 units calculator

Convert a semaglutide or tirzepatide dose between milligrams and syringe units for a U-100 insulin syringe. Enter the concentration printed on your vial label. This tool only checks math; your prescription label and Amanda's instructions control.

0.25 mg = 0.1 mL at 2.5 mg/mL on a U-100 syringe

For U-100 insulin syringes only (100 units = 1 mL). Reference only. Do not use this tool to choose or change a dose. If the result doesn't match your label, don't inject; call or text Nuvo at (772) 210-4649.

The formula

Units = (dose in mg ÷ concentration in mg/mL) × 100. On a U-100 syringe, each unit is 0.01 mL.

Example: 0.5 mg of semaglutide at 2.5 mg/mL is 0.5 ÷ 2.5 = 0.2 mL, or 20 units.

Why the concentration matters

Compounded GLP-1 medications come in different strengths. The same 0.25 mg dose of semaglutide is 10 units at 2.5 mg/mL but only 5 units at 5 mg/mL. Always use the concentration on your own vial label.

Questions

GLP-1 units FAQs.

How do I convert mg to units for semaglutide or tirzepatide?

Divide your dose in mg by the concentration on your vial in mg/mL, then multiply by 100. That gives units on a U-100 syringe. For example, 0.5 mg of semaglutide at 2.5 mg/mL is 20 units, and 3 mg of tirzepatide at 15 mg/mL is 20 units.

Why do different charts give different units for the same dose?

Compounded GLP-1 medications are made in different concentrations. The same dose in mg is a different number of units at each concentration, so a chart or calculator is only correct when the concentration matches your vial label.

Does this calculator work for 50-unit and 100-unit syringes?

Yes, as long as the syringe is U-100, meaning 100 units equals 1 mL. Both 0.5 mL (50-unit) and 1 mL (100-unit) U-100 insulin syringes measure 0.01 mL per unit. A 50-unit syringe holds at most 50 units.

Can I use this calculator to change my dose?

No. It only converts numbers. Always draw the dose on your prescription label, and change your dose only when your clinician tells you to.
